League of Legends Custom Gaming PC build

custom gaming pc for league of legend under 300 60 FPS

League of Legends PC build

A couple of days ago me and some friends were at a friend’s house. One of his friends whipped out his new custom gaming PC from his car. The computer was a fancy custom case. Naturally I proceeded to ask him what he was using it for, and he said “League of Legends”. Then I proceeded to ask what were the specs were it was some I5 non K version with a GTX 970, I said that was a pretty sweet setup. Then I asked what else are you playing?

Now this blew my mind, he said “Just League”. Now in my head I was like “WTH why would you need a $1,200 custom gaming PC for League of Legends”, I was thinking that because I use to play it on my shitty laptop, with the touch-pad that is now 9 years old (2007) on a low-med setting. I just thought it was really, really dumb since:

It was just League of Legends

He wasn’t screen recording or streaming

No graphics editing

Now if you have the money more power to you. I just thought that thing was super overkill for a game that isn’t very graphic intensive. Now if that wasn’t bad enough he went into more detail how he was going to get an i7 soon…. WHY?!?!?! Why would you need an I7 for just League of Legends? I was going to give my 2cents, but felt like it was not worth correcting someone who thinks they need and I7 to play League of Legends. Also I don’t have the right to tell someone how to spend their money. But I do have a blog where I can express my irrational anger of how someone uses their PC.

The League of Legends PC build specs

If you’re on a PC build budget I put together this list of inexpensive components. That can play League of Legends maxed out at 60 FPS, and will even be upgradable for the future.

(Prices dated as of 1-26-17) price went up on some of the components, but if you look for used items or black Friday/ Cyber monday deals. You should be able to find lower prices.
CPU – Intel Pentium G3220  $87.54
Motherboard –MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard $42.99
Memory – G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)  $57.99
Storage – Hitachi HUA721010KLA330 1TB 32MB 7200RPM  $39.99
Video Card – PNY GeForce GT 730 2GB DDR3 Graphics Card  $59.99
GPU Update: RX 460 2GB $99.99 more expensive, but the card is so much better.
Power Supply – EVGA 430 W1 80+, 430W  $34.99

Grand Total: $280.42  $363.49 (before taxes), You can get whatever case you want, but if you want to stay under the $300 mark you can easily find a case for 20 bucks.

Now with  that Power supply, and motherboard you will be able to upgrade to a newer CPU/ graphics card in the future no problem, that is if League of Legends ever becomes more graphic intensive, if not you can play league forever on it. Currently anything  better than these parts are just throwing money down the drain so be smart if all you are going to play is League of Legends don’t fork out $1,200 on a computer
